Harvest & storage

Cold Storage

Own and rented storage: lots, gate passes, temperatures and rent billing.

Run a cold store properly. Lots with marka, chamber occupancy, numbered gate passes, temperature alerts, depositor accounts, and rent worked out on what was really in store each day.

What it does

  • Stores and chambers with capacity and temperature and humidity limits
  • Lots for your own produce or for depositors, with marka and rack
  • Releases with printed, numbered gate passes; over-release blocked
  • Transfers between chambers and losses (rot, shrinkage, sprouting)
  • Temperature log with out-of-range alerts
  • Rent per bag per month, per ton per month, per season or flat
  • Month-end billing for all rental lots in one click
  • Receipts applied to the oldest bill first; printable bills and receipts
  • Depositor statement: billed, received, balance, rent not yet billed

Cold store owners lose money in three places: bags that leave without a proper gate pass, rent that is billed on the wrong quantity, and chambers that warm up at night. FarmOS closes all three.

Every lot keeps its own balance, so releases can never exceed what is in store. Rent is charged on the bags actually held each day, so a depositor who takes half his bags out mid-month pays for exactly that. Temperature readings outside a chamber's limits turn the dashboard red until someone acts.
